This is probably the earliest numpy>=2.0 version of iris that we can aim for.

Of course, this all depends on the compliance of our package dependencies ...

Note that @cgsandford has kindly offered to trial the NumPy v2 compliant version of Iris against her use cases, so we should get in touch when the release candidate is near.
