During setup, I first tried connecting to my device using Wireless Debugging, but I couldn't establish a connection.
I then connected the device once via USB, and Android-Dex connected successfully. After that, I was able to connect using Wireless Debugging without any issues.
It seems that the initial USB connection may have installed or configured something required for wireless connections.
