Flow Studio 2 User Guide

Start a project

  1. Open Flow Studio and configure the microphone and output in Settings.
  2. Import a beat with Import > From device, use Import > From YouTube link for a public beat you have permission to use, drag an audio file into a track, or double-click an empty timeline lane.
  3. Press Find BPM + Key on the imported beat's track to analyze it and set the project tempo/key, or set both values manually in the toolbar.
  4. Add tracks with + Add Track. New tracks are named Track # and can be renamed or recolored from their right-click menu.

Record vocals

  1. Select the target track and press its R arm button. Enable Auto Arm if the selected track should always become the recording track.
  2. Select a count-in if needed.
  3. Press the transport Record button or the R key. Recording begins automatically after the count-in.
  4. Press Stop to place the recorded audio on the armed track.

Use headphones for microphone monitoring. Mic Monitor > Raw plays the selected microphone at a safe monitoring level. Mic Monitor > Live FX runs the input through the selected track's effect chain.

Edit the timeline

  • Click a clip to select it; drag to move it.
  • Drag a clip edge to trim it, or drag its fade handles to create an equal-power fade-in or fade-out.
  • Drag a clip vertically to move it to another track without changing its timeline position.
  • Drag across empty timeline space to marquee-select clips on multiple tracks. Hold Shift to add to the selection, then drag any selected clip to move the complete group.
  • Use Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V to copy selected clips and paste them at the playhead while preserving relative timing and track layout.
  • Place the playhead inside a clip, right-click it, and choose Split at playhead.
  • Press Delete or Backspace to remove the selected clips.
  • Use Ctrl+Z for Undo and Ctrl+Y or Ctrl+Shift+Z for Redo.
  • Use the bottom scrollbar or Shift + mouse wheel to scroll through time. Use Ctrl + mouse wheel to zoom.
  • Right-click a clip to export that clip as FLAC.
  • Right-click a track to rename, recolor, duplicate, or export the complete effect-processed track as FLAC.

Duplicating a track copies its audio, mixer settings, effects, VST3 state, and ReVoice configuration to an independent new track.

Add effects

  1. Select a track and choose Open Effect Rack in the Recording Manager.
  2. Use + Add Effect, browse by category, or search by effect name or category.
  3. Enable Pro Effects to focus on FlowTune Harmony 4, Flow Prism EQ 6, Dynamic Reverb, Dynamic Formant, Flow Graphic EQ 7, Flow Tone EQ3-M, and the complete Zen processor family.
  4. Add a built-in processor, or choose Add VST3 for an installed plug-in.
  5. Open the effect's dedicated editor. Start with a factory mode or Auto Set From Track, then adjust the editable controls.

The Recording/Mixer panel can remain docked at the bottom or detach into a separate resizable window for another monitor.

Built-in effects and supported VST3s report their processing delay to Flow Studio. The mixer compensates other tracks to preserve timing.

Use ReVoice

ReVoice sends only the chosen vocal audio to the separately installed local Applio runtime. Flow Studio 2.0.0 is tested with Applio 3.2.9 and 3.6.3.

  1. Right-click a vocal clip and choose ReVoice.
  2. Select the .pth model and optional .index file with the searchable selectors.
  3. Set the pitch detector, index strength, protection, envelope, split-audio, and other conversion options.
  4. Use Conversion Pitch / Before AI to change the pitch Applio receives and how the model generates the voice.
  5. On Applio 3.6 or newer, enable Output Pitch / After AI to shift the finished AI vocal independently.
  6. Process the selected clip, process the complete track, or explicitly enable vocal-only automatic conversion for that track.

Flow Studio preserves the untouched original source and uses it when changing models. It does not intentionally convert an already generated AI result into another AI voice. Right-click a ReVoiced clip and choose Restore original recording to revert it.

Never enable automatic ReVoice on a beat or non-vocal track. Use only voices and recordings you have permission to process.

Save and export

  • Save the project as a .flow file. Imported, recorded, and ReVoiced audio is copied into a matching .flow-media folder beside the project.
  • Keep the .flow file and .flow-media folder together when moving or backing up a project.
  • Choose Export Complete to render all audible tracks and effects to 24-bit WAV, FLAC, or OGG.
  • Right-click a track to render a complete FLAC stem with its effects.
  • Right-click a clip to export its current trimmed audio as FLAC.
