Have been using your kext with my Hackintosh systems for a long time and it’s been a life saver especially for those of us using OCLP to re-enable Broadcom WiFI which requires a downgraded Skywalker.kext which means we can’t use the updated/native Apple e1000 dext driver in recent versions of MacOS.
However as many of us know the i255-V ethernet adapter built into many motherboards has always been a bit buggy thanks to crappy Intel firmware and for a lot of people when the link speed is set to autoselect (the default) depending on upstream devices (HUBS/ROUTER ..etc) it can often select an incorrect link speed (EG auto selects 100baseT instead of 1000baseT on a 1GB ethernet LAN) or in some cases randomly disconnect/reconnect.
In an ideal world we should be able to update the i225-V firmware, however firmware for certain domestic versions of the i225-v with 2MB FLASH ROM do not exist for the 15F3 version of the device. In these cases manually setting/overriding the link speed in windows and Linux seems to solve the problem.
Unfortunately in MacOS as the kext stands now (version 1.6) it is not possible to manually set the link speed in System Settings -> Network -> Ethernet -> Details -> Hardware. Any attempt to set it manually is not saved and it always goes back to the default of “autoselect”
Would it be possible for you to update the kext so that it is possible to manualy set the link speed via the system settings dialogue or if that is not possible through an entry in the info.plist within the kext’s contents ? ( similar to NETIF_F_TSO)
