Make RCON persist across the program's runtime or at least auto-connect when opening the Play dialog

Having to click the connect button everytime you open the dialog is unnecessarly tedious.
A checkbox "Keep global connection" or "Auto-connect in play dialog" could be added to the RCON pane.
Global connection would need to be managed somewhat robustly and be periodically retried, which is fairly annoying.
Auto-connect is definitely the easier option.
