ZeroSphere is a web-based analytics platform designed to quantify, visualise and reduce the carbon footprint of Indian coal mines. It offers two major capabilities:
This tool estimates direct emissions from fuel combustion, fugitive gases, and other carbon-emission sources in coal mines, calculates natural sinks such as afforestation and grassland restoration, and outputs net CO₂-equivalent (CO₂e) emissions with visualisations and downloadable reports.
This tool evaluates three realistic carbon-reduction pathways- afforestation, methane capture systems, and renewable energy adoption (solar), based on a mine’s available land, funds, and current emissions.
