B580 missing RX/TX & power

I just installed Ubuntu 25.10 so I could get the GPU temperatures, there is nvtop 3.2.0 included. I think these were avaliable before, usin ghte intel xpu-smi they are there:

I set the cap to be the same as for xpu-smi

Same here. Arc B580 not reporting RX/TX, MEM, as well as POW.

AFAIK Intel doesn't expose the PCIe RX/TX or the memory frequency, so until that changes it can't show anything. As for the power, can you run sensors xe-*; sleep 1; sensors xe-* and post both readings? The energy is cumulative, so the sleep gives me a known interval to calculate the wattage.

Thanks @goochur! Interestingly, it seems energy usage isn't exposed through the normal hwmon interface on these cards. I'll look into how xpu-smi does it soon.

You can see in my comment you need to enable these other cap's not just perfmon to get all the data for some reason.

They are exposed in xpu-smi, as you can see sensors does not have the power but XPU does:

Somehow power usage can be read now,but not with the sensors command. I didn't do setcap with either(i tried and it doesn't work). RX/TX and MEM are still missing.here's my mesa and kernel version local/mesa 1:25.3.3-1 6.18.3-arch1-1 @Steve-Tech

@goochur Oh cool! sensors will read it as nvtop is using the same sysfs interface, but Intel exposes the power usage as a cumulative value since the card got power called energy, so you basically have to run sensors twice with a known interval in between and then do some math to get the wattage. See one of my previous comments with the sleep command in the middle for an example.

However as it works now, you were probably just running an older kernel without support for this.

What distro are you running? Maybe it was on a stable branch without the energy patch.

Yeah so thats the value I was referring to (sorry I forgot sensors doesn't show raw names by default, but you can throw in a -u flag to see them). Joule is basically just watt seconds, so the conversion to watts just looks like this: ((383.02−382.91) × 1000) / 1 = 110 (1000 to go from kj to j, and 1 for amount of seconds).

Of course nvtop should do this behind the scenes too, but as we require 2 readings it cannot show on the first read or when using nvtop -s. However that's a separate issue to what happened here.

RX/TX and MEM are still missing

AFAIK not even Intel's tools will show the PCIe rates or memory frequency, and Intel hasn't exposed them in any self explanatory way. So there's not much that can be done about that at the moment.

Thank you for your reply again and the clarification. This card is currently running on ArchLiunx,and before this it was running on Gentoo. Both are rolling system and I always keep the kernel up to date. But I can't get POW Report until now. So maybe it is about the energy patch you mentioned.
