Unable to play Mario Kart Wii on regular versions of Dolphin

I have it set up so that vanilla and pycore share the folder
when I try to open mkwii in vanilla, it shows the wiimote info screen and then blackscreens forever
I can still play mkwii on pycore, and I can play other games on vanilla dolphin, so idk what's going on
seems like something is wrong with Dolphin.ini

What is meant by "sharing the folder" here? Is it just the executables or the entire filesystem?
