First of all, thank you very much for your work on PaxxTouch!
I was able to successfully install the firmware on my BTT Panda Touch V1.1.1, and it is now working with my Snapmaker U1.
I did run into one issue during installation: the required USB serial driver would not work on my newer Mac with the latest macOS. I eventually used an older Intel Mac, installed the required driver there, and was then able to connect the Panda Touch and flash PaxxTouch successfully.
I have a few questions/observations:
-
Display alignment
I will attach a photo showing the current display. As you can see, the entire UI seems to be shifted slightly downward. Is there currently a way to manually adjust the display position/alignment, or could this be corrected in a future firmware version?
-
Display behavior when the Snapmaker U1 is turned off
When I switch off my Snapmaker U1, the Panda Touch display stays on and continues showing the last screen/status received from the U1.
Would it be possible for PaxxTouch to detect that the U1 is offline and automatically turn off the display or put it into a sleep/standby mode?
- Clock/date screen when the printer is offline
Another nice option would be to show a clock and date when the Snapmaker U1 is switched off or unavailable, instead of keeping the last printer screen permanently displayed.
Is something like this — automatic display sleep and/or a clock/date standby screen — planned for one of the upcoming PaxxTouch updates?
Thanks again for developing PaxxTouch. I’m very happy that I finally got it installed and running!
