Possible audio latency improvements?

Seeing that Block Frames in Retroarch on my RG Arc is set to 512 I wonder if it's possible to reduce it similarly to what have been done in T618 GammaOS? (TheGammaSqueeze/GammaOS#21)

Would be nice to have an option to lower it more for low end systems (pretty much Genesis/MD is the only thing I use the Arc for).
