Possible bug - when mutations were switched off, crossovers did not seem to function.

When running the code in parallel with an error where results of mutations were not passed between cores, fitness did not seem to go down, indicating that crossovers are not functional - or at least are not beneficial. This needs exploring fairly urgently.
