Current VATSSA Requirements for a C3 Rating are:
≥ 250 hours post-C1 with ≥ 50 hours each on specific Area CTRs: HKNA_CTR, DNKK_CTR, FASA_CTR (note FASA includes FAJA and FACA)
However, the C3 Rating does not provide any additional benefit these days on the VATSIM Network.
As such, there has been an ongoing discussion to revert the C3 Requirements to a merit based framework.
My proposal is that we split C3 into it's own policy and base ourselves on the VATSIM UK eligibility requirement:
_In order to be eligible for a C3, members must:

Be a member in good standing;

Have no substantial negative feedback in the last 6 months;

Have held a C1 rating for at least one year;

Have at least 300 hours on VATSSA CTR and/or FSS positions post-C1 [*];

Mentored at least 150 hours in VATSSA ATC mentoring sessions at any level except Enroute;

Mentored at least 50 hours in VATSSA ATC Enroute mentoring sessions.
Members are also required to have an additional 250 ‘credits’. These credits can be earned as follows:

1 credit for each additional hour (above the minimum stated above) controlling VATSSA CTR and/or FSS positions post-C1 [*];

5 credits for each additional hour in VATSSA Enroute mentoring sessions;

50 credits for each year holding a VATSSA Staff position [*]._
