Update to Nvidia App

Nvidia App has replaced GeForce Experience for quite a while now, do you think you'll get around to updating this project? I used to rely on this a lot ever since Nvidia first introduced the auto-disabling. But I check back here every few months and based on the other issues it doesn't seem likely that you'll come back to this? Just wanted to clarify with you first, because I might start a similar project myself for Nvidia App if this isn't planned to be updated.

I haven't abandoned this project, but sadly I haven't had the motivation to sit my ass down and work on side projects for a while. So the answer is I want to work on this update, but my timeline is "when I feel like it". I realize that's not very satisfactory. If you want to compete with me I won't stop you :)

For now, I'll just use the Windhawk mod "ShadowPlay-Do-Not-Disable" as it seems to work, coupled with a blockage of further NVIDIA App updates.

For anyone else who still uses this fantastic app, consider using an older version. 1.66 breaks for everyone who has the latest driver/nvidia app it seems, but I thought about trying the older versions, and 1.3 was the earliest that works fine. 1.2 seems to be very buggy, constantly flipping on and off. I've been using 1.6 and it's been smooth sailing, but it's still using the old method, where it seems to just be pressing the shortcut. My shortcut to turn shadowplay on/off is alt+pause, and I can see the alt key is being pressed when I have vivaldi or sublime text in focus (the little mini menu appears in the top left for them).

1.66 breaks after a couple of successful switch-ons, then never works unless I close the app and open it again.

I tried that windhawk mod, but it doesn't seem to turn shadowplay back on if I turned it off myself. Which for me, I do, because I like to have multiple fighting games open at once and just wait until one of them has a player join. Then I can switch to that game, turn off shadowplay, and when it gets turned on again then the game currently in focus is the one that's getting recorded, instead of the first game that was opened. Having this app running makes sure shadowplay is definitely turned on, in case I didn't double tap the shortcut to turn it off/on properly or something.

Anyway, tl;dr, try the older versions.

@oryxcallotis I'm glad you found something that works for you, but I am curious about the issues you're having with newer versions.

The only change I can think of that sounds like what you're describing is that in one of the latest versions I added a feature to make AlwaysShadow relent if it finds that Shadowplay is constantly being toggled back off. If it toggles Shadowplay on and then it quickly gets toggled back off too many times in a row, AlwaysShadow will give up trying to fight it for I think 15 minutes. The idea is that there's nothing I can do to force Shadowplay on if something else is forcing it off. All I can do is toggle Shadowplay back on once you close the program that was forcing it off.
