Package manager release

hi, thanks for the suggestion! i have some experience with scoop, so i'll look into getting it added to the extras bucket when i have time. i'm not familiar with winget or choco though, so if anyone wants to help with those, that would be awesome

Winget publishing is fairly simple, just needs a manifest file submitted to the Winget repo.

unfortunately ihateborders does not meet the criteria for scoop's extas bucket, i'll try again when it gets more stars. i'm not sure what to do about winget's manifest, as it doesn't enable creating shortcuts for portable apps (microsoft/winget-cli#2299), so ihateborders would only be accessible through cli, which doesn't make sense for a gui app. i'm thinking maybe start distributing an installer package that will take care of shortcut creation. we could use something like https://github.com/axodotdev/cargo-dist

i just realized you can install manifests by passing the link directly. now you can run

scoop install https://raw.githubusercontent.com/z1xus/ihateborders/main/scoop/ihateborders.json

to install ihateborders via scoop. this will be a good alternative, until the project meets the criteria for extras bucket

I’d be happy to help you set up Chocolatey packaging.

We can keep the packaging files in the repo and add a small GitHub Actions workflow that automatically builds and publishes the package whenever a new release is created. That way it stays fully in sync with your tagged releases and doesn’t require any manual work.
