Mouse not working?

Hi

I just picked this device up again to play with, I used it only a couple of times and put it back in it's box.
But now the mouse doesn't work. The keyboard does because I can type things, and yeah I pressed the usb hub power button on boot-up.
But the mouse doesn't move at all.

I put back in the original SD card that came with it, and same the mouse doesn't move
do you think it's broken?
is there something I can do or check to make the mouse work?

It's the 9900 version.

I had this happen as well: it turns out that when 'shift' is pressed (in my case with the Q20 keyboard, I believe it is the 'vessel' key on the top left row next to the BB key), the mouse no longer responds. When this is unset, it begins to work again.
