Early Display Output

Hey everyone,
i was wondering, if there is a way to get the display up early in the boot process.
On HDMI, I do get the normal boot output of the raspberry, however, the build-in display only turn on after booting.
I am playing around with encryption on the hackberry and the request for the password is only visible through HDMI so far.
I can enter the password without a display, however, it would be good to get some feedback during the process.
Does anyone have a hint on where to start looking?

Hey Robsch, I got an early output without changing anything. Which OS are you running?

I've got an early screen on Kali as well as on RaspianOS

Hey, that is interesting and good to know. I am using Pi OS lite and with desktop. With desktop, the first thing I see is the start of the plymouth service, that displays the splash screen. With lite, the first thing is somewhere in the boot process somewhere around the setup of the swap.
I am only using the two lines additionally in the config.txt

dtoverlay=vc4-kms-v3d
dtoverlay=vc4-kms-dpi-hyperpixel4sq

Do you have anything else in the config.txt or cmdline.txt?
