Reality
docs/VERSIONING.md §3 marks "promote" provisional — no code may use the word until semantic is settled: either "Apply into staged fork" (distinct from merge-to-primary) or drop the verb.
Probe
Paper only: write the verb table against dyslexistree-design acceptance criteria (~747–749, 935) and the Phase C/D exits.
Exit
- VERSIONING §3 updated: promote defined or removed.
- No code uses "promote" until then.
- Gate UX copy matches the settled grammar.
