Benefit
Installing a new ground braced CORS monument at the Montpelier ITD yard to NGS standards will provide a stable long-term replacement for the existing station that is currently located on a building scheduled for demolition. This installation will help preserve GNSS coverage in a gap area for Idaho and northern Utah users, support continued data delivery to the Utah TURN network, and position the site for future inclusion in the NGS CORS network. Building the monument and associated site setup to current NGS guidance helps ensure long-term monument stability, data quality, proper metadata collection, and compatibility with national CORS requirements.
