huge memory usage

I have tried to use it with 2 files (around 3min each) and the memory usage is extreme.
I got a memoryerror at 90GB used memory.

How the hell does it go so high???

Also like this on my system.

It eaten all 64G of memory on my desktop and crashed the system during my testing of alignment_by_row_channels.py with Python 3.11 (after a little adoption).

I found its memory usage exploding before entering the outmost for loop in find_freq_pairs(), with two 512*5k scale dicts.

I did realize the division problem, but I hadn't replaced them all last month...now the code works.
