Thanks for the suggestion — and for the bit of history. AdunanzA was a clever piece of work in its day.

The short version: the aMule team maintains aMule itself, and we don't take on third-party mods or forks like AdunanzA. They have their own codebases, maintainers, and release cycles, and carrying a Fastweb-specific mod upstream isn't something we'd do.

That said, the underlying problem AdunanzA solved is worth addressing the right way. AdunanzA existed because Fastweb historically put subscribers behind carrier NAT with private IPs — so every client was LowID and couldn't connect to other Fastweb users. Its KADu network worked around that by building a Fastweb-only Kademlia over the internal network.

Rather than a per-ISP mod, we have NAT traversal (NAT-T) planned for a future aMule version. It tackles the same root cause — peers stuck behind NAT that can't accept incoming connections — generically, so it benefits users on any NATed ISP, not just Fastweb. That's the direction we'd rather invest in.
