What do you want and why?
- Customizable File Name Template
I would like the ability to define a custom file naming template for downloaded files. For example, a template like uploadr - title would allow users to structure file names according to their preferences (e.g., incorporating uploader name, video title, date, etc.). This would greatly improve file organization and usability, especially for users who download large volumes of content.
2. Flexible Download Options for Playlist Items
After a playlist is loaded, users should have the ability to select one or multiple files from the list and choose specific download options for each. For instance:
Download selected files in a different quality (e.g., 720p instead of 1080p).
Download selected files as audio-only files (e.g., MP3 or M4A).
This would provide greater flexibility and save time by eliminating the need to process files individually outside the software.
3. Configurable Retry Attempts for Failed Downloads
I would like to see an option that allows users to set the number of retry attempts for videos that encounter errors during download. This would be particularly useful for handling temporary network issues or server-side throttling, ensuring that downloads are more resilient and require less manual intervention.
4. Adjustable Concurrent Download Limit
Adding a setting to control the number of simultaneous downloads would be highly beneficial. This would allow users to optimize their download speed and network usage based on their internet connection and system capabilities. For example, users with high-speed connections could increase the limit, while others could reduce it to avoid overloading their network.
5. Fragment-Based Downloading for Faster Speeds
I would like to request the implementation of fragment-based downloading (e.g., using byte-range requests) to accelerate the download process for videos. By downloading different segments of a file in parallel, this feature could significantly reduce download times for large files and improve overall efficiency.
