Using the # glyph to denote a new type of placeholder tag is a bit troublesome because that tag is supported as a MODX comment, so the package ends up having the unexpected behavior of parsing MODX comments. It would probably be better to use a glyph that was not ear-marked by MODX (I'm not sure if the "#" comment marks are deprecated or not).
