Pod ui v1.5.1 won't fit my screen Win 10

Finally found an editor that connected with my old BassPod XT Live, but the app runs off the bottom of my screen and I've tried everthing I can think of to get it visible, but it just isn't happening. Any ideas?
Edit: I just noticed that if I open the app without connecting my device, it opens in a manageable size, but it only has the parameters for Pod 2.0. All the extra parameters for the BassPod XT Live are what expand it off the bottom of the screen. Need a scroll bar. Cool program, though. Hope you can fix this.

Hi! Yes, this could be a bit of a problem on smaller screens. While I'm checking, what can be done, would you mind attaching a screenshot? What I'm wondering is -- is the app not picking up the packaged theme data, or is it really just too large for the screen area? The packaged theme makes the app noticeably smaller and if it is not picked up by app, that must be fixed first.

Hi, Artem Thank you so much for contacting me. I am attaching two screenshots. pod ui 1 is app opened without device attached, pod ui 2 is with device attached. My screen resolution is 1360x768 and I use a 32" monitor because I'm kind of old and don't see too well anymore. This is on my desktop with Win10. None of this is urgent, it is only a convenience, but I am happy to have a chance to be able to use an editor for my old BassPod which I just obtained recently. Separate issue (lower priority): I also have an old laptop that I use for practicing music on which I have installed Ubuntu and I am such a novice at Linux that I don't even know how to tell you which version it is but it is up to date. I downloaded both Linux versions that you have on github as appimages and tried to run them but they won't run. I did go to "properties" and switch on "run as program" or whatever that switch is. I don't remember exactly, but I think the laptop is not totally certified to run Linux, but I think I tried it anyway and it ran well enough to load my mp3's and practice. The reason I'm telling you all this is because ultimately I would like to be able to run the app on either machine, but as I said earlier it is only for convenience and I appreciate and admire your dedication to your projects. Artem: Follow up: I just thought to tinker with my screen resolution, changed it to 1920x1080 and now I can see the whole app but text is so tiny there and everywhere else that I may not be able to use it like that. I see your predicament, 768 pixels high is definitely too little to fit the UI completely. I'll have to check how to make the UI scrollable for smaller screens like that.

As for the Linux AppImage, it should work correctly on recent enough Ubuntu no matter how old the hardware is. Linux is also the most stable platform with the old PODs in my experience. I believe, Pod-UI-v1.5.0-x86_64.AppImage is the one for you. I'm not quite sure, how does the "run as program" switch does, but I would imagine that the issue is that the file is not executable after being downloaded.

Try the following. Open a terminal and type the following commands (I am assuming the app is downloaded to the Downloads folder. If not, adjust the cd-command accordingly):

cd ~/Downloads
chmod +x Pod-UI-v1.5.0-x86_64.AppImage
./Pod-UI-v1.5.0-x86_64.AppImage

The last command there is just running the appimage from the command-line. If there are any errors with libraries missing, etc, this is a sure way to see them. If the app is going to work this way, then you do not need to start it through the terminal anymore in the future, it should also work by clicking on the appimage through the UI.

Thank you. I will try the linux commands. Meanwhile I have flashed a USB stick image of Lubuntu as it was recommended for older laptops as being a lighter, more user friendly distribution. I will use the "try before you install" method and see how it works with opening the pod ui, etc. Will keep you posted.

Hi, Artem I installed lubuntu (Noble Numbat) on my laptop and used the option to wipe the SSD. Installed just fine, copied the appimage (Pod-UI-v1.5.0-x86_64) onto the desktop and the app opens up OK. The problem is USB. It claims that no device is attached, but if you open the settings it seems to recognize the BassPod but the option to communicate over USB is greyed out. I checked the version of libusb and it is 2:1.0.27-1. Do I need a different version or additional drivers or what? I double and triple checked the cables and device and they are working with the desktop version and all USB ports on laptop work with other devices. I appreciate you have many irons in the fire, so just whenever you have time. Richard

Hi Arteme, Thanks taking the effort to develop this alternative solution. I have the same issue as Oldenphat. I work on a older monitor which supports a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. When my POD XT Live is connected, the "Edit Buffer" and "Patch" options are not visible anymore. Would it be an idea to reposition these options below "Tempo" or "Pedals"? Thanks for looking into this.

I am also encountering the same issue where the bottom part of the GUI is not visible (pedals and volume pedal). FYI, I use ubuntu 24.04 with screen resolution 1920*1080. Hope you can add a scrollbar in future updates.

I played around with the code, and managed to "hack" the code to include a vertical scrollbar. Now I can be able to scroll down to the bottom part which was out of visible scope.

Here is the necessary modification to /pod-ui/gui/main.rs. All you have to do is to make this change, rebuild and fire it up.
