Device detection.

Hi,
I'm trying to debug a MIDI Thru connection.
At present the Thru connection is preventing pod-ui from detecting the device (Podxt)

Can you tell me what pod-ui sends and what is expected in response when the test button is pressed?

Hi,

pod-ui sends a SysEx UDI (universal device inquiry) message F0 7E 7F 06 01 F7, where the third byte 7F will be different depending on the selected MIDI channel. The POD responds with a F0 7E 7F 06 02 00 01 xx xx yy yy zz zz zz zz F7 where xx xx is the device family pair, yy yy is the family member pair and zz zz zz zz are the bytes representing the firmware version.

I don't know if MIDI pass-thru correctly forwards SysEx commands, but my guess if that with different devices your mileage may vary ...
