One Way Communication/USB Connection issues

Hi! I'm a longtime PODxt user but new to POD-ui. I can get my PODxt to react to changes I make in the program, such as changing the amp type or stomp effect. I cannot get any communication in the other direction. I cannot load patches individually or as a group into the computer. The software says it recognizes the PODxt, but nothing happens when I try to "Load Patch" or Load All". Changes I make to the knobs on the PODxt are not reflected on my computer either.

I'm using a MacBook Pro with M2 Pro processor, running MacOS Tahoe.

I would start by checking out the midi setup with monitoring. I'm not on a MAC but I think MacOS has built in tools including a monitor.

POD-UI has a test button to check the what device is there. (Issue see #80)

@bluesman2473414 On a Mac you have two possibilities of connecting to a POD - the USB cable and a USB-MIDI dongle.

If it is a USB cable, then we're at the mercy of libusb and sometimes it just doesn't work. Unfortunately, I could never get it to work reliably on anything but a Linux machine ...

If it is a USB-MIDI dongle, then you may be having issues with longer SysEx commands as not all USB-MIDI dongles are created equal. Please see https://arteme.github.io/pod-ui/pages/usb-midi-cables.html#usb-midi-cables ...

When you turn the knobs of your PODxt such as "bass", "treble", etc, do the pod-ui sliders move? There might still be something we can debug...
