Just an idea for those of us with independent window manager
A tab to configure user options like XDG-user-dirs, set default applications for the most popular mime types (mime/text for example > xdg-mime default org.kde.kwrite.desktop text/html > kwrite used as an example.
See groups attached to user, add user(s) to group (text box with user on the left, divided to the right, list of groups in vertical order.
Just a tab with some basic afterthoughts after an installed system, or if you want to change something after the fact .
The autostart tab thats already available should be a good starting point to visually give an idea of how it could look like with regards to applications and mimetypes. To give an idea:
Application top, beneath should list mime type and the disable button should be an "edit" button. I am sure that it is not too technical that users would have to type in mimetypes on the fly in plain text (a google search is very helpful to figure mimetypes out). Same with the application, assuming that /bin, /usr/bin, etc is set in $PATH.
I am assuming a sane environment. If not, that complicates things unnecessary.
Any more ideas and tips are more than welcome, perhaps even some better english wording help when it comes to the idea I am proposing, because I am not sure if I am able to express what I want properly in an understandable way..
