Troubleshoot faulty Thermostat / Furnace #14

Description

The furnace stopped working. I replaced filters to reduce tension on blower. The nest thermostat (original model) is showing that the furnace is offline.

So far I've;

  • jumped HEAT, taking the relays out of the question; heat runs for random length of time and stops.
  • I replaced thermostat with new Nest model (terrible build quality compared to the original!). things worked but would stop randomly.

The 24v transformer blew out at some point during troubleshooting so I purchased a new one from Lowe's.

The logic board had a 7A fuse installed, I downgraded to 5A after blowing the transformer.
