Not in Applet Installer list on Radio firmware version 9.0.1

Hi,

I just heard about this applet while updating the firmware on my Squeezebox Radio to the community firmware and wanted to try it out. After the firmware install I went to the Applet Installer but didn't see an entry in the list for Font Replacer, even after unchecking 'Recommended Applets Only'.

Is it because the firmware version is now 9.0.1 r17023, while the applet targets version 8? If so, could the target be updated?

Or have I missed an installation step?

My Lyrion Music Server is Version: 9.0.2 - 1741501853

For anyone on version 9.x that still wants to install FontReplacer, you can add https://server.vijge.net/static/squeezebox/fontreplacer.xml as a custom additional repository in the Manage Plugins tab of LMS.
This is a copy of repo.xml found in here on GitHub, with just the maxTarget set to 9.x instead of 8.x. Tested on my Touch, but just at your own risk.

I'd be happy to update the xml here to bump to 9.x (or even 20.x). Goes against my testing philosophy, but then again this is open-source software that's well outlived the physical devices being on the market.

I'll make the change.

Maybe this is better answered by @michaelherger This repo is part of official list of plugin repositories, and as such marked as a recommended applet.
Not sure it is would make sense to move/fork this to LMS-Community, or even if unicode support should be part of a future community firmware update.

I'm happy with the "official" repo moving to LMS-Community. Can you just fork it and repoint to that one?

I think that if I fork, it'll forever be a fork and point upstreams to yours. It would be cleaner to transfer ownership: https://docs.github.com/en/repositories/creating-and-managing-repositories/transferring-a-repository

Works for me. According to the docs
"To transfer repositories to an organization, you must have permission to create repositories in the receiving organization, and to transfer repositories out of the origin organization."
can you add permissions for me to create/transfer on LMS-Community and I'll do the transfer?

Github doesn't allow me to change an outside user role to admin on a personal account (this is not currently housed in an Org)
