Inconsistent GPU monitoring behavior

First of all, I apologize for not making my issue in Chinese. I'd also like to thank the developer for their amazing work. Somehow, this is the only tool that was able to make my laptop respond to custom CPU power limits, which lets me greatly improve battery life.

I have an OMEN 16 ap0007ns (board 8D26) with a Ryzen AI 7 350 CPU and a RTX 5070 GPU. I use it on hybrid mode so that the GPU is off during light tasks to save energy. In some cases, OSH properly detects when the dGPU enters a low power state and disables GPU monitoring automatically. However, other times it fails to and it stays on, keeping the GPU awake and drawing extra power. Then the opposite also happens where GPU monitoring isn't enabled automatically when launching a game, which can cause overheating because OSH doesn't adjust the fan speed according to the fan curve while the monitoring is off.

Perhaps this issue could be solved by linking monitoring settings to the recently added custom presets? I could link GPU monitoring to my performance preset, and make it disabled on my power saving preset. This way I would never forget to re enable it manually and prevent overheating.

If you discover specific scenarios where the "automatic GPU monitoring toggle" fails to work, please let me know so I can improve OSH. It is worth noting that heat is transferred between the CPU and GPU (unless your laptop uses separate heat pipes for each), so monitoring just the CPU should still work effectively. You can observe the temperature difference between the CPU and GPU while gaming; this gap should remain relatively stable.

Thanks for your understanding! First of all, I didn't notice any issues with the English translation. In fact, since it was added, the tool has been much easier to use for me and other users.

You're right, my laptop shares the same heatsink assembly for both the CPU and GPU, but I like to use an aggressive fan curve to keep the GPU core and its VRMs at lower temperatures. Without GPU monitoring, especially on GPU intensive games, the fans won't start quickly enough or will be at lower speeds.

Based on my use case, I did some more testing to see where the "automatic GPU monitoring toggle" failed. I turned on my laptop, opened OSH, and loaded my "Balanced" custom preset. I didn't have any dGPU programs opened yet, so GPU monitoring was off. Then, I tried opening some games, but it wasn't turning on automatically. As you can see in this screenshot, on the OSH hardware monitor, GPU monitoring is still off and the fans are at a low speed, but the GPU is heating up.

After that, I manually enabled GPU monitoring on the menu, and the fan speeds adjusted accordingly. Then, after closing the game, GPU monitoring stayed on, despite not having any programs keeping the dGPU awake. OSH itself isn't detecting any GPU processes either.

I tried switching between presets and even reopening OSH, but that didn't work either. Usually, when GPU monitoring was left turned on and I reopen OSH, it will automatically detect that the GPU is in a low power state and automatically disable the monitoring. However, this behavior is inconsistent, as it didn't work this time.

Using tools like HWinfo, I can see that the GPU was sleeping (0 degrees, 0 watts), but OSH's monitoring regularly "pings" it every few seconds, causing it to awake and increase power draw spikes. This affects battery life.

This is why I thought that an easy solution would be to link GPU monitoring with presets. I could keep GPU monitoring always enabled while using my "performance" or "balanced" presets (that I use while plugged in) and keep it disabled while using my "power saving" preset (battery). Or, on the contrary, you could change the GPU monitoring logic to prevent it from waking up the GPU. I've noticed that other monitoring software like Hwinfo doesn't wake the GPU after launch (see below) but I'm aware that this might be more difficult to code.

It's up to you how you would like to approach the problem, but the first solution would work for me because it's not a major issue and it might not be worth it to spend a lot of time fixing it. Thanks in advance!

Thank you for the quick fix! I've tested the latest version and now it works as intended. And I can't thank you enough for making my computer more functional (since Omen Gaming Hub is horrible). This is my favorite OGH replacement so far!!
