Epic: Onboarding & comprehension (dual wizard, 'found not rescued') #35

Description

@nandal

Epic. The dual onboarding wizard (self vs. caregiver) and the comprehension gate that sets the ceiling on expectation before arming. Models Maktub #271's "Slow down. This one matters." — but installs the opposite truths of the secrets wizard.

Mode-pluggable note

The wizard is mode-aware only at the leaves: it states mode-specific honest-promise text (Sovereign metadata reality vs. Easy server-dependency). The flow and the three core truths are shared. In V1 the Sovereign branch is the disabled-shell dialogue (see Sovereign-shell epic).

Scope (child issues)

  • Dual setup flow: "for myself" vs. "for someone I care about" (the non-installing-elder journey)
  • Comprehension wizard + the "found, not rescued" micro-check gate
  • Configuration UX for non-technical users (sensors as plain objects, no timers-as-numbers, who-as-faces)

The three truths to install

  1. This finds you — it does not save you. (found, not rescued)
  2. It can miss — and here is exactly when (dead phone, throttled background, off-grid).
  3. False alarms are the design, not a bug — and that's why each one is cheap.

Non-negotiables baked in
