Compare Grid or County-level CH4 to EPA CH4 inventory estimates

Compare CA Inventory to Gridded National Inventory of U.S. Methane Emissions.

1. Download gridded CH4 data (see citation below) for years 2016-2020
2. Create polygons for each grid so that downscaling output can be aggregated to these polygons.
3. For each polygon where crops include rice, calculate annual sum(CH4)
4. Create table(s) with MAGiC and EPA values for each grid cell.
5. Compare and add to report comparing MAGiC inventories to other inventories / estimates

• Download raster for each year and compute Rice CH4 inventories to compare w/ MAGiC inventories
• Note this is another model product, so should not be treated as data for validation.
