As you mentioned, the project is not currently compatible with OpenAPI 3.1. The main blocker is the lack of OpenAPI 3.1 support in the underlying library we rely on: kin-openapi. You can follow the discussion around this here: getkin/kin-openapi#230.

I won't have the bandwidth to contribute to kin-openapi or migrate to an alternative library like pb33f/libopenapi.

If you're interested, feel free to open a pull request. I'd be happy to review it!
