Push notifications in locally hosted phanpy

I am running Phanpy on my local server. Using an internal domain.

I can't seem to get push notifications for Phanpy.

On my IronFox, I can get push notifications directly from my instance if I enable notifications on the web interface of my instance.

But not when using phanpy.

Do I need to have an externally accessible phanpy for push notifications to work?

How do you run your locally-hosted Phanpy? Push notifications require HTTPS.

I am using the npm package serve inside an Alpine docker image to serve the dist folder, then I have nginx reverse proxying with a subdomain (accessible only internally) to provide HTTPS.

I'm using letsencrypt for the domain. I'm thinking maybe there's an issue with internally accessible domains?

I am able to get notifications for other things that I self host and are only accessible by internal domain too. So not sure if this is why.

Yes! It actually works on desktop, but not on Ironfox. I've tried with UnifiedPush and without. Can confirm that Ironfox receives push notifications for other sites tho.
