With three monitors enabled on KDE Plasma 6 under Wayland, the recording overlay never appears on any screen. Transcription, paste, and audio feedback all work correctly.
Steps to reproduce:
- Three outputs enabled (built-in eDP-2 plus two externals)
- Trigger dictation → no overlay on any screen
- Disable both external outputs, leaving only the built-in
- Trigger dictation → overlay appears normally at the configured top position
- Re-enable the externals → overlay disappears again
Tried without success: built-in set as primary output, restarting Handy after outputs settled, matching fractional scale across all three, moving the built-in to desktop origin (0,0), disabling HDR on the built-in, a KWin window rule forcing screen placement for window class handy, WEBKIT_DISABLE_DMABUF_RENDERER=1, restarting KWin, Overlay Position set to both top and bottom, and switching paste method from External Script to Direct Input.
libgtk-layer-shell0 0.8.2 installed, XDG_SESSION_TYPE=wayland, settings are overlay_style: live and overlay_position: top. No layer-shell errors appear in logs in the failing state. HANDY_NO_GTK_LAYER_SHELL=1 produces "GtkWindow is not a layer surface" as expected, confirming layer-shell initializes normally otherwise.
The surface appears to be created successfully but is never painted when more than one output is active.
App Version: 0.9.4
Operating System: TUXEDO OS (Ubuntu-based), KDE Plasma 6, Wayland session
CPU: [run lscpu | grep "Model name" and paste]
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU
