Extend ManagedMissingValuesRepresentation

ManagedMissingValuesRepresentation is currently limited to MissingCodeRepresentation, MissingNumericRepresentation, MissingTextRepresentation. We have use cases where it is needed on other representation types, notable the DateTime.
Would it be conceivable to expand it, at least to DateTime?
We have noticed the MissingValue element ("list of values used to represent missing data in a space delimited array"), however, we would like to harmonise and enhance the management of missing values with reusable items.

Sorry I have missed the MissingValuesReference, since it does not appear in the DDI 4 and DDI 3 document, although it is in the schemas.
Consequently, if the managed representation type does not to be extended, at the least, the documentation should be fixed (and the issue title renamed :) ).

The MissingValuesReference always points to a ManagedMissingValuesRepresentation item which currently contains the missing representations.

Could the MissingNumericRepresentation or MissingTextRepresentation be used to describe the missing DateTime values?
If not, what would you like to see a new MissingDateTimeRepresentation contain?

There were initially a number of value representations that were not included in the "managed" list because there was a specific request to limit that list (because they didn't think someone would "reuse" a managed text or number and a code was already a managed item as a codelist. It is the documentation that is wrong. One should be able to reference any managed representation type. The Managed Missing Representation was provided so that those 3 representation types could be used for missing values. I think the documentation should be changed as the intent was NOT to limit what could be used as a missing value. Wendy L. Thomas ISRDI [retired] email: ***@***.***
