Design decisions — International Student Loan Advisor

Start questionnaire (inferred from brief)

  • Start mode: Step-by-step — niche, aesthetic, and section list were specified (editorial finance / HK private banking).
  • Image placeholders: No — data-forward UI with icons and charts.
  • Niche & pages: Single-page research tool; sections 1–10 as specified.

Cinematic / art direction

  • Reference tone: Bloomberg terminal discipline × Hong Kong private-bank editorial calm (not a film title); deep navy field, ivory type, restrained gold accent, asymmetric grid and sticky navigation for “trading desk clarity.”
  • Primary composition: Vertical editorial stack with a persistent sticky top rail (nav + language + scenario affordances) and card slabs offset on a subtle asymmetric grid — distinct from a centered hero + symmetric card grid.
  • Shell-ban list: Generic purple gradients, glassmorphism stacks, centered SaaS hero with three feature cards, neon cyberpunk, stock “fintech” illustrations dominating the fold.
  • Previous-work audit: N/A in this repo for this artifact; avoided default Next/Geist shell.

Technical

  • Next.js 14 App Router, TypeScript, Tailwind, Radix-based UI primitives, Recharts, Framer Motion, React Context for language and scenario (no next-intl).
