Do you know any further info on the above development of native support for changing the timeout? Is it still planned?

Also, in the meantime is ttmg still safe to install ok the latest Home Assistant versions?

@MorganBridget, sorry that I am a couple of months late with my response 😅

Home Assistant now supports streaming both on LLM and TTS sides, this also fixes the timeout issue. The problem is that as of now, not many TTS integrations for hass support the new methods - I think from the official integrations only wyoming-piper does it.

I've written a small cloud TTS wrapper based on wyoming-piper: https://github.com/eslavnov/wyoming-cloud-streamer. Use it instead of ttmg and you'll get native streaming with Google Cloud and OpenAI. This approach should work with all versions of home assistant and it touches only the TTS part of the pipeline.
