Feature description

I would like to see a web UI and a non volatile storage to be able to set a (wired) static IP address to the OTBR.

Use cases

When using OTBR with Home Assistant, a static IP is needed in order for HA to be able to always locate the device.

Alternatives

mDNS could be an alternative but collision happens if multiple devices are in the same network.

Hi @EPinci for setting the static IP, I think these two ways may help you:

1. (Recommended) Map a static IP to the MAC address of the TBR on your AP. Most APs provide a management web interface where you can locate the specific TBR device and assign it a static IP.

2. You can refer to this example to add a static IP: https://github.com/espressif/esp-idf/blob/master/examples/protocols/static_ip/main/static_ip_example_main.c#L76 However, this approach may lead to IP address conflicts, and it requires knowing the gateway IP address in advance, which makes it less flexible.
