A simple e-ink display plugin for Raspberry Pi that shows a family member exactly what they need to know about today — nothing more, nothing less.
It came out of a personal need: a family member who gets confused by calendars, notifications, and busy screens. The display shows today's date, up to two upcoming events from a shared calendar, and the current weather — all at a glance, in large clear text, on a low-power e-ink screen that updates quietly in the background.
Events are colour-coded by urgency so it's easy to see at a quick look whether something is happening right now, coming up soon, or later in the day. Finished events disappear automatically, so the screen always reflects what's actually relevant right now.
It's built as a plugin for InkyPi, works with any standard iCal feed (Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, etc.), and pulls weather from Open-Meteo with no API key needed.
This was inspired by RobinWts' InkyPi-Plugin-seniorDashboard_allDay — I just wanted something even more stripped back and focused on the current day only.
