Help harden NotAlterra before v1.0

🧪 Beta testers wanted

Hi there! I'm the maintainer. NotAlterra is functional and has served me well, but no amount of local testing simulates real‑world save folders, unusual game states, or unexpected file system layouts.

Before tagging a v1.0 release, I am looking for people to use it on real saves.

What I'm looking for

• Diverse save folders – single player, multiplayer, many saves, weird filenames
• Edge cases – corrupted .sav, missing .bak, read‑only files, unusual folder permissions
• UX friction – menu navigation annoyances, unclear prompts, missing warnings
• Platform quirks – Windows (especially non‑English paths) and Linux (Proton / Steam Deck)

• Backup / restore that actually works

How to participate

1. Run the tool – latest release from Releases
2. Use it on real saves – inspect, backup, recover (try a disposable save first if you're nervous)
3. Report – open an issue for bugs, start a discussion for design / UX feedback

Before reporting, please check:

• Existing Issues (search first)
• The CHANGELOG.md (your issue may already be fixed in main)

• Your save folder path is never persisted (memory only, per session)
• Fixes will be prioritised by severity + reproducibility
