Multiple Products Sharing the Same Operations – Best Modeling Approach?
Hi,
I have a modeling question regarding multiple products that follow the same production process.
Scenario
I manufacture 7 different finished products.
All 7 products:
-Pass through the same 4 operations
-Use the same machines
-Follow the same sequence
-Have similar processing logic
The machines and routing logic are identical for all 7 products.
My Question
To configure this properly in frepple:
-Do I need to create a separate routing (parent operation) for each product?
-And then duplicate the same 4 suboperations under each parent?
-Or is there a way to reuse the same routing across multiple products?
In other words:
If the operations and machines are identical, what is the recommended modeling approach?
Create:
7 parent routing operations (one per product)
Each with the same 4 suboperations duplicated
I want to:
-Avoid unnecessary duplication
-Keep the model clean and scalable
-Still maintain accurate capacity planning
Any clarification on the recommended structure would be appreciated.

Scenario
I manufacture 7 different finished products.
All 7 products:
