Timer is removed when window gets active after a certain time. #6

I use multiple windows of safari with different safari-profiles.

Sometimes when switching between safari-windows the timer on the inactive window gets immediately cancelled when the window becomes active again after a certain time/conditions.

What I discovered so far:

  • I couldn't reproduce it at least once when on shorter timer's < 15s. (Currently it's reproducible by 17s reload + single tab)
  • While the window is inactive (second screen), the timer is displayed as "active" but the page does not reload. If this happens, the timer has invalidated. Switching to the inactive window with the timer switches the icon from active to inactive.

How I was able to reproduce it at least couple of times, while writing this issue: (sadly not every time)

  1. Open two Safari-Windows
  2. Setup Timer: 17s, Active tab
  3. Make this Safari-Window inactive, while switchting to the second Safari-Window
  4. Wait for 17s, for the first reload
  5. Switch to the Inactive Safari-Window by clicking into it
  6. Timer gets deactivated
