Is your feature request related to a problem?
The Padding slider in the Video Effects panel currently defaults to a lower value (e.g., 30%), causing newly added videos to have unnecessary padding around the content.
To provide a better out-of-the-box editing experience, the default padding should be set to 0%, allowing videos to fill the available frame by default. Users can still reduce the padding manually if they prefer additional spacing.
Proposed Solution
Update the default value of the Padding slider to 0% for newly created projects or newly added media.
Acceptance Criteria
- The Padding slider defaults to 0% when a new project is created or media is added.
- Existing projects retain their saved padding values.
- Users can still adjust the padding freely after the default is applied.
- The change affects only the initial/default value and does not modify user-defined settings.
Benefits
- Makes videos fill the canvas by default.
- Reduces the need for manual adjustments after importing media.
- Provides a more intuitive editing experience for new users.
