Can we use it without adding layer?

Some TUI tools seemingly show options directly on the root screen, e.g, GNU nano and vim text editor, GNU nano shows text content and options directly on black screen. Does it allow creating options and slider without adding a layer?

Technically, the cursive root uses a StackView, which calls its children "layers". But they don't all have to use the Layer view, and in practice, layers don't have to look like the default layers.

The view of a layer is defined by multiple components:

• The view background (defaults to gray) comes from the Layer view wrapper.
• The border comes from the Dialog or Panel wrapper.
• The drop shadow comes from the ShadowView wrapper.

All of these are optional and configurable. For example, you could define the "view background" color to be black, so it will all look like text on a black background. You can also use the TerminalDefault color, which uses whatever the current terminal theme is configured to use.

An easy way to start is to use a "fullscreen layer", which will not have any border or shadow, and in there, build your own layout.
