Contribute GeoSpark R to Apache Sedona (formerly GeoSpark)

Hello GeoSpark R community,

Anyone in the community interested in updating the code in this repo and push it to Apache Sedona main repo? Currently, this R package is only a Git submodule in Apache Sedona (formerly GeoSpark): https://github.com/apache/incubator-sedona/tree/master/contrib

I have contacted Harry Zhu before and he said he was busy at his daytime job. We really want to officially include the R language support in Apache Sedona with CI enabled.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Hi @jiayuasu, I might be willing to contribute when I have a bit more bandwidth, which I expect might happen in a month.

@jiayuasu I'm working on https://github.com/r-spark/sparklyr.sedona which is a sparklyr extension that aims to be an up-to-date R interface for Apache Sedona.
