Giving a date whatever he wants when I enter a date in a wrong fromat.

When I try to input a date in wrong format as /date 222222. Instead of showing wrong format app is update my time table with a random date as below.

Thanks for raising this.

We didn't face this issue of defaulting the current date when an invalid input is given. Looking at the date output, it is not random. It is the date the command was issued (PE day, April 11). This could be because the date time parser uses an external library Natty and maybe it internally defaults to the current date.

Since the date interpreted is not random and is unlikely to cause any inconvenience to the user as a real user would not enter the interview date like that, we believe this would be a low severity. Moreover, it does not affect the other features too.

Reason for disagreement: I disagree that this is a Low severity issue. When a user enters a completely invalid or wrongly formatted date like 222222 or even something like 20255 by mistake(pressed one more 5 by mistake for 2025), the app should prompt an error or reject the input, not proceed to schedule the interview as saying Internship saved successfully.

Automatically parsing it to the current date (or any unintended date) without informing the user leads to false data being saved in the system. This is especially critical for an interview scheduling application, where accurate dates and times are essential.

While the date may not be “random,” the fact that it is not what the user intended and no error is shown means it could lead to serious miscommunication or missed interviews.

Therefore, this issue impacts user trust and the correctness of stored information, and should be classified as severity.Medium.
