# aggregate-library (aLib) — AI Manifest (Read First)
aggregate-library is a **methods / conformance** repository: it specifies the
minimal *overlap* shared by libraries across diverse systems (29 operations
across arithmetic, comparison, logical, collection, string, conditional) as
language-neutral specs plus executable YAML conformance vectors. It is NOT a
standard library and has no blessed implementation — a system conforms by
implementing the operations and passing the vectors.
## Machine-readable artefacts
Canonical project metadata lives in `.machine_readable/6a2/`:
`STATE.a2ml`, `META.a2ml`, `ECOSYSTEM.a2ml`, `AGENTIC.a2ml`, `NEUROSYM.a2ml`,
`PLAYBOOK.a2ml`.
## Key paths
- `specs/<category>/<op>.md` — the language-neutral specs + YAML conformance vectors.
- `src/ALib.mres` (AffineScript), `lib/` (Elixir), `src/affinescript/ALib.affine`
(AffineScript reference) — conformer reference shapes.
- `docs/EXTENSION-LAYER.adoc` — aLib as the extension layer over the AffineScript
faces (faces unify *syntax* over one cube; aLib unifies a *library API* over
many cubes).
- `scripts/` — Deno spec validator + conformance runner.
## Core invariants
1. Spec-first: update the vectors when changing specs.
2. Conformance-tested: implementations are validated against the YAML vectors.
3. Ecosystem-neutral: no blessed implementation; borrow the *method*, not the code.
4. Reversibility: changes must be easy to evaluate and to undo.
## Policy
- Languages: AffineScript primary; Deno runtime; AffineScript reference (legacy).
- Licence: MPL-2.0 (code) / CC-BY-SA-4.0 (docs). PMPL is reserved estate-wide for
`palimpsest-license`, `palimpsest-plasma`, and `consent-aware-http` only.
