Courseplay and Soil Sampling

Hi. Love the mod. It makes the game so much more immersive.

Using precision farming. When soil sampling and using courseplay it will drop down to one MPH. You can manually put the speed back up using the two key but will drop back down to one in a matter of ten seconds. No matter what size tractor I use big or small does the same thing.

Hi. Most likely, your tractor is overloaded or starting to overheat.

If that is not the case, you can disable AI Overheat & Overload Control in the settings, and then the AI will stop adjusting the cruise control speed.

Please let me know the tractor + implement combination you are using when the speed drops to 1 mph.

I tried the soil sampler with three tractors. John Deere 6R, 8R and 9R. It’s when the implement is in the soil it reduces the speed, when it lifts the implement the speed stays if I was manually increasing it. Also if I hold the two key it will go the max implement speed and no warnings appear. I’ll deal with it for now because I run a lot of autodrive and occasionally things don’t go well so the AI protection does well protecting when things go wrong I don’t see right away.

Also one thing to add. A lot of times when doing contracts the equipment they offer with the implement is underpowered and make the contact difficult to complete without overloading the tractor too much. Maybe make contract work exempt from overloading equipment? I understand probably can’t but wanted to make you aware of what I’m running into. I have been using my equipment to do the contracts but I like using the ones from the contract to keep wear and tear off my stuff.

I did not understand you correctly at first and missed the part where you mentioned the soil sampler. Yes, I see the issue now. I’ll try to fix it in the next patch.

As for contract equipment, you do not need to worry and can use it as much as you want, because it has immunity to breakdowns.

There will also be a small rebalance and softening of the wear factors in the next patch.

In regards to contract work the issue is the equipment gets slow to perform work when underpowered and if it overloads shuts off if protection is on. Not the end of the world just a quality of life thing.

Although it is interesting: ADS does not interfere with the physics of the work process; it only reads the vanilla engine load and similar data. So it seems that the original combination provided for the contract — tractor + implement — is already underpowered.

In the vanilla game, this only results in a slight speed reduction, but in ADS it can lead to a whole set of issues. But you are right, for contract equipment this is inconvenient. I’ll try to find a solution.
