Is it just 5 12AWG wires soldered together and wrapped up in tape? Is the thinner wire for LEDs? I can't tell from the pictures.

Hi,

It's a soldered "star" of 12guage wires. Have a look at the instructions I've just put on the wiki:

I'll put some better photos up as soon as I can! Right now travelling a lot so hard to get the pics in a nice workshop environment.
