Feature request - Add Matrix support

Hello all,

Nice work on the tools and bridge, thank you.

We were wondering if you would be interested in adding a bridge to Matrix (https://matrix.org/)

Matrix is an open standard for interoperable, decentralised, real-time communication over IP. It can be used to power Instant Messaging, VoIP/WebRTC signalling, Internet of Things communication - or anywhere you need a standard HTTP API for publishing and subscribing to data whilst tracking the conversation history.

The Matrix.org Foundation defines the standard, and provides open source implementations of Matrix-compatible Servers, Client SDKs and Application Services to help you create new communication solutions or extend the capabilities and reach of existing ones.

Can you talk about what you would like an M17-to-Matrix bridge to do and how you would use it? I looked at doing Matrix, but ended up implementing IRC instead. I hope to return to the bridge at some point, but I have some higher priorities right now.

Well, pretty much the same as IRC actually, just to be able to receive messages on Matrix clients,  sending has some issues in regard to licensing.  Not sure how you deal with this on IRC and Discord.  Trusted users I guess. Cheers George
